The
retrieval of the tour boat Ilinden which sank in Ohrid Lake
on Saturday killing 15 Bulgarian tourists will be probably retrieved today if
weather conditions are good.
The boat was to be retrieved earlier this week, but Croatian experts suggested
that the retrieving operation be postponed in order to complete the footage of
another 16 points of the boat.
The footage, according to experts from Croatia,
who work alongside their colleagues from Macedonia
and Bulgaria
at the boat sinking site, are needed to establish the cause of sinking and to
draw up a final expertise.
The boat was to be retrieved from the lake on Monday at Bulgaria’s
request, but high winds and waves put the entire operation off.
No details have been announced thus far as regards the mode of retrieval. The
boat will be probably raised out of water with air balloons placed inside the
vessel.
Croatian experts, who are highly skilled in retrieval operations, are likely to
run the operation.
