Following a request by Minister of Interior Lulzim Basha, Albanian police general director Ahmed Premci has been replaced from the post he held for two years, MIA reports from Tirana.

Premci's deputy Hisni Burgaj has been appointed to the office. He previously held command posts in Tirana, Kuks and Gjirokastra.

Official sources confirm that Premci resigned two weeks ago due to health concerns. He has been appointed adviser in the cabinet of Minister Basha.
