If Berlin wall was a territorial barrier, who prevent
citizens of eastern Germany
to look for their financial luck in western countries, it's about time those
walls fall in people's minds and political leaders, President Gjorge Ivanov
said.
At the forum on occasion of 20th anniversary of Berlin
wall fall, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov invited his Greek counterpart
again to visit Macedonia
or even meet somewhere else, because nothing can replace personal contact.
"Our neighbors use Cold War rhetoric. No matter how much positive progress
we make, they have to accept those changes if we want to build stable
region", Ivanov said.
He added that the symbol "Berlin
wall" was an opening towards democracy, a way to reach freedom and build trust
in our political leaders.
"Macedonia
is open for cooperation with its neighbors. I've already met with presidents
from Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria
and Kosovo, and I'm still waiting to meet with Greece's President. Why shouldn't
that happen? President Ivanov asked himself at today's forum on occasion of
20th anniversary of Berlin
wall fall.
