Macedonia registers 107 flu cases Print E-mail

Including November 9, a total number of 107 people has been infected by the new flu type А/H1N1 virus.
Health institute said that, most infected come from Skopje, 2 from Kocani and one in Kumanovo, Stip and Struga. Eleven people of the infected are foreigners, which have a temporary stay in Macedonia.
The largest number of infected are young people-students age 16 years old (10.3%), 17 years old (10.3%) and the age group from 10 to 24 years old up to (68.2%).
Infected students, mostly in high schools, then in primary schools are 38 (around 35%) and indicators of the virus being spread are noticed in 7 high schools and 4 primary schools at the territory of Skopje.
The largest number of infected students comes from "Lazar Tanevski" catering school of Skopje. All infected visited Turkey and right after they got sick.
At the moment, the laboratory at the Public health institute is testing another 39 specimens, suspected to be infected by the flu type А/H1N1 virus.
