China and the United States will work to resolve commercial disputes and jointly oppose trade protectionism, President Hu Jintao said after talks with visiting US counterpart Barack Obama. Hu said during a joint address to reporters that the two sides would continue to have consultations on an equal footing to properly resolve economic and trade frictions. "I stressed to President Obama that under the current circumstances our two countries need to oppose all kinds of trade protectionism even more strongly", said Hu. Of the Copenhagen talks, Obama said: "Our aim there is not a partial accord or a political declaration but rather an accord that covers all of the issues in the negotiations and one that has immediate operational effect." |
