The
opposition Social Democratic Alliance of Macedonia (SDSM) described as
scandalous the procurement procedures for vaccines against HPV and swine flu.
“The supply of HPV vaccine in the country is carried out through the company
Kemo-Farm only, without any public announcement and by waiving the offered
donation of the Dutch government beforehand,” SDSM’s statement says.
This party alleges that Kemo Farm has been picked as the sole supplier of the
HPV vaccines only because of the close ties of the company’s management with
the Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski. Moreover, SDSM claims, Kemo Farm supplies
the jabs at almost double the regular price.
As regards the swine flu vaccines, the party accuses the authorities of
agreeing to allocate as much as up to “4 million euros more” than other
European countries had to pay for the same vaccine.
